About Us
To all fifth and sixth grade students in the Texas Panhandle school districts:
West Texas Youth Football
League (WTYFL), which is under the leadership of a five person board.
All 10 thru 12-year-old boys and girls can tryout for their team and wear the school colors of the high school district they live in. However, no 7th graders will be allowed to participate.
The WTYFL will work closely with the same high school official's and security officers that have been used in the past. All coaches have decided to make the move to the WTYFL and lead the kids teaching fundamentals of teamwork and good sportsmanship.
Our seasons will run from the first weekend in September to thefirst weekend in November. Our final games have been a treat for the kids as this and every year there is plans for playing our playoff games with added attractions.
Thank you again for your interest in youth football and we hope to see you this fall at tryouts. We will be posting notification of registration on this site for the up coming season and sending flyers to the middle schools or you may call one of the officers posted on the Contact Us page of this site.
Parents Information
On behalf of the West Texas Youth Football League, we would like to welcome you! We have just a few "housekeeping rules" that we would like to bring to your attention. The league operates off of a few volunteers. These volunteers give us their time because they enjoy helping with the youth. We ask that you treat them the way that you would like to be treated. In the past, there has been parents who cuss and disrespect the volunteers that help us at the gate, concessoin and announcer booth. They do not set the prices for the gate or concessions nor do they make the rules for WTYFL. We just ask that if you do have any concerns or complaints that you contact a member of the board or the security officer at the games. If you have an emergency, law enforcement is available.
WTYFL does ask that you take the time to look over the rules that are listed on the website. We also asked that you look over other areas of the website that gives you more information that is available to you.
WTYFL reserves the right to change or amend any rule or decision any time it deems necessary for the safety of the players or for clarification.
